After a brief stint as a newspaper journalist and 39 years in industry, Kirt Van Buren and his wife Jane are retired to a small farm on top of the Blue Ridge Mountains near Big Island, VA, where they raise miniature donkeys and wait for grandchildren.  They have five grown children in various careers, colleges, and relationships.

Kirt’s father emigrated to the United States from Holland after WWII, and shortly thereafter met Kirt’s Irish-Catholic mother in a chance encounter at Grand Central Terminal. They lived and loved a long and happy life.

Mr. Van Buren has authored and ghost written any number of business publications under various pseudonyms, but the Baker Project represents his first attempt at fiction.
